Obituary of Joan Relda Collins

Joan was born on February 3rd 1938 in Tacoma, Washington and passed away at home in Puyallup, Washington on May 1st 2021. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Richard M. Collins; 2 children, son Rick Collins and daughter Rhonda Hopkins; 3 grandchildren, Shaina Pierce, Kaitlyn Hopkins, Conor Collins; 3 great grandchildren, Rylee Hopkins, Blake Pierce, KenzLy Urednick; brother Doug Wilburn, sister Wyonna Josties; and proceeded in death by her sister Paulette Doud.

Joan's favorite things were her home, her rose garden and keeping her flowers alive and bright. She spent 8.5 years as an Air Force wife. Joan enjoyed the beach, vacations to Hawaii, and slumber parties with her grandkids. She enjoyed watching her grandkids play many sports and was also a season ticket holder to the Seahawks with her siblings and amazing husband for 25 years. She was the best cook in the family and she could make a seriously delicious pie and unforgettable potato salad. Joan was "wicked with a broom" clean but was good at turning whites into pinks like she did her husbands softball uniform.

She had such a pure heart and there wasn't a single birthday that she forgot. Joan set the gold star standard for grandmas and great grandmas. She will be surely missed by all who knew her.
