Diana Van Dyken

Obituary of Diana M. Van Dyken

Diane Margaret Van Dyken went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, surrounded by family.  Diane was born in Remagen, Germany on August 25, 1950, the daughter of Alva and Marianne Hayes who has preceded her in death. She married Gary Van Dyken on July 8, 1966. She will be missed by her sons, Paul (Katie), Dennis (Heather), Scott (Brooke) and by her grandchildren, Justin, Lana, Jonah, Emma, Travis, Hayden, Falon and Abby. She loved her sister Hannah and Doris and brothers Geary, (Kay) Dale and Barney (Stacey) along with her nieces and nephews.

Although Diane was a military brat and wife, she always called Tacoma and Puyallup home. She worked for the Bon Marche (Macys), and Mervyns for a number of years. She enjoyed travel, especially to support her grandchildren’s sports activities, camping, and concerts with her family and friends.  Diane enjoyed the element of surprise with pranks, that included water balloons, water cannons and buckets on hot summer days.

Diane believed those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Society.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 12th at 3:00pm at Hill Funeral Home in Puyallup.  Masks and social distancing required.
